Holy bejesus! The US government is going to enact RIAA written legislation to shut down websites without judicial oversight? What's next? Imprisonment without trial? Untrained armed private police forces? State sanctioned killings? Invasion of sovereign nations? Secret arrests? Closed government legislation? Public financial fraud?
I'd never thought I'd be saying this but, let's hope Ron Paul wins the next election!
There are so many people in the US who need to wake up, and that includes the US governments. There are other world powers that aren't afraid to stand up to the United States and that time might even come, if it weren't for the fact that the United States is about to go bankrupt after performing a couple of tiny wars. If a serious war actually occurs, the US couldn't afford to fly it's planes!
War as a driver of production is all well and good until .. war gets serious.
When $30,000 rifles can't be afforded, the financial system of the US will need to be changed. But it's very unlikely things will get that far. If the soldiers on the ground don't support the politicians who send them to war, you've got to be concerned. And this is a real flaw in the US economic political system.
The poorest and most dejected people in society are being armed and trained to fight. Were I a rich elitist .. I'd most certainly be more concerned with the opinions of the soldiers rather than anyone else. If the entire population decides that they hate you, the soldiers are the last refuge. And the people actually realize this.
